Samples collected at time of surgery were enriched in #Proteobacteria and harbored high levels of unusual, bacteria such as #Streptococcus mitis, #Undibacterium oligocarboniphilum, #Sphingomonas melonis and #Gemella haemolysans, while 6 months after surgery samples had elevated proportions of anaerobic bacteria belonging to #Lachnospiraceae (#Clostridium nexile, #Blautia wexlereae, #Dorea longicatena). Remission was characterized by increased levels of bacteria belonging to Bacteroides, Dorea, Ruminococcus and Dialister genera, whereas recurrence was associated with increased levels of #Gemmiger formicilis, #Enterococcus durans and #Ruminococcus lactaris.
